Meet My Horse - Jenny Wetterau and Hertog
We recently had an opportunity to sit down with Jenny Wetterau of Dressage Horse Source, a horse sale business she operates with Sarah Lochman.
Jenny and Sarah work out of Summit Farm in Murietta, California, primarily importing horses from Holland and Germany to develop and sell to clients in the United States.
The two are focussed solely on dressage prospects and young talent development and have been getting into the breeding side of the business as well.
Jenny’s personal horse, Hartog, has been using GastroPower for 3 years and Jenny was able to successfully get him off Omeprazole.
“Hartog has been performing very well with absolutely no issues with ulcers or anything ever since we switched.”
Jenny purchased Hartog as a 3 year old, coming 4 year old, and after their first year off competition went to the U.S. Championships. In his 5 year old year, Jenny took him off Omeprazole for a bit and found the ulcers came back pretty quickly.
Their veterinarian advised them to not have Hartog on Omeprazole for long periods of time so Jenny looked into some options and did some research.
“I came across GastroPower and we gave it a try and it took care of the issues. We have not made any changes since and he has gone on to 6 year old National Championships. So he has been healthy and fit and I haven’t had to think twice about any gastro related issues or ulcers ever since!”
